Roofdeck Productions is always ready to welcome new faces to the group and provide opportunities to theatre practitioners and enthusiasts whenever possible. Whether you’re a performer seeking new challenges, a playwright with material you want to see onstage, a director with a vision in search of a stage, a producer with a pet project, or someone who wants to help out backstage or at front of house, we’d love to hear from you!
It is important to note that we are an amateur theatre community, meaning every member participates on a voluntary, not-for-profit basis, so unfortunately, this is not the right venue for you if you’re looking to be financially compensated for making art. (Trust us, we’d also love to be financially compensated… that’s the dream. Maybe someday.)
Ways to Get Involved
Performer
Roofdeck Productions strives to tell a diverse range of stories, thus we’re also on the lookout for a diverse range of performers. Registering your interest means we’ll keep you in mind if an opportunity arises that we feel could be right for you.
Playwright
No matter at what stage of the writing process you are, we’re ready and willing to help out. Whether it’s a private reading of an early draft, a staged reading of a work in progress, or perhaps a full-scale production, we can find a means for your work to flourish.
Director
Finding opportunities to direct a theatrical production can be difficult. Perhaps you’d like to bring a particular piece to life, or maybe you want to learn more about how the process works. We can involve you either as the main director, a co-director, or associate director.
Producer
Have you always wanted to put up a particular show, but need a network to find a creative team to bring it to life? Then you’re welcome to pitch your dream production to us, and we can see if we have the right people to realise your vision.
Production Team
It takes a village to make theatre, and there are many possibilities for someone to contribute. Whether your interest is in lighting, sound, costumes, stage management, or front of house, there will be opportunities to be part of a production.
